For some time I have enjoyed the challenge of photographing live spiders and insects in the wild. Whilst marvelling at the detail the images reveal, their always seems to be a bright leaf or an untidy web that draws the attention away from the subject. So what would happen if these distractions were removed?
My intention is to answer this question by producing a set of minimalist images of the spider and insect world. By showing the subjects larger than life and removing all unnecessary features I hope to allow the viewer to concentrate on the beauty and complexity of these miniature creatures. Hopefully my images will be both visually appealing and educational.
